Before you begin to judge, let me explain why we Apostolics choose to dress this way.

Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God. (KJV)

Whenever I’m asked why I don’t wear pants, I almost always start by quoting this verse.  Of course, this always leads people to tell me, “Well, they make woman’s pants.. so why don’t you wear those?  They’re ‘girl’ clothes.”  Previously, I had NO CLUE what to say back to this, but today, I have an answer.

After reading “The Girl in the Dress”, by Lori Wagner, everything finally became clear.  You should be able to tell the difference between a male and a female at FIRST glance.  I’m sure we’ve all been in that situation where we see someone out in public and no matter how long you look at them you just can’t tell if they are a man or woman.  Christ made both genders distinctly different so that you could tell  them apart by just a glance.  This is why women and men shouldn’t wear the same types of clothing.  It makes it harder to distinguish between male and female.  That’s not what Christ intended.

Let me leave you with this.  What symbol is on a men’s restroom sign?  What about a woman’s?  What happens when you ask a child to draw a stick man and stick woman?  The woman is always shown in a dress!  It’s a worldwide symbol that everyone understands.
